Stories

ColibriPlus includes a built-in user stories feature that enables users to share temporary visual content with their followers. Stories allow users to post short videos or images that disappear after 24 hours, creating an engaging way to share moments, updates, and behind-the-scenes content without permanently adding to their profile feed.

Configuration

All uploaded story videos are automatically converted to MP4 format and standardized to 1920x1080 resolution. Regardless of the original upload resolution, all content is processed to maintain consistent viewing quality across the platform.

Video processing relies on FFmpeg for conversion and formatting. Ensure FFmpeg is properly installed and configured on your server for stories to function correctly.

See our FFmpeg installation guide for detailed setup instructions.

Story Features

  • Media Upload: Users can post videos or images for their stories
  • Text Descriptions: Users can add captions and descriptions to their story content
  • View Analytics: Track and see who has viewed each story
  • Story Sharing: Share stories with other users across the platform
  • Highlights: Save stories to permanent highlights (Coming soon)

How It Works

When users upload video content for stories, the files are added to a processing queue for conversion and formatting. Stories remain hidden from viewers until processing is complete, ensuring optimal quality and consistent presentation.

ColibriPlus automatically pads both videos and images to 1920x1080 resolution, maintaining aspect ratios while delivering a uniform viewing experience for all users regardless of their original content dimensions.
